Questions About Dermatologists in London
Dermatologists can help with everything from everyday complaints like acne, eczema and psoriasis to hair loss, rosacea, warts and suspicious moles. They also diagnose and treat skin cancers, including basal cell carcinoma, manage scars and keloids, and address concerns like aged and sun‑damaged skin. Looking for something specific? You can use the treatment section in the filters (on desktop it’s on the left side; on mobile tap the filter icon at the top right) to browse a full A–Z of conditions and treatments.
Prices vary depending on the clinic and the doctor’s experience, but a private consultation typically starts at around £150 and can go up to £300. Follow‑up appointments are usually cheaper. Any procedures or tests will be quoted separately by your chosen clinic.
Once you’ve found a dermatologist who looks right for you, just click the "Book" button on their profile. You’ll be able to request an appointment that suits you and submit your details in a couple of minutes. You may also call the provider directly via their phone number.
Absolutely. If you’d prefer to see a female dermatologist you can use our filters to narrow your search. Just tick the “Female” option under the gender filter and we’ll show you doctors who match.
If you’re paying through insurance, choose your insurer from the drop‑down menu in the filters. We’ll then show you dermatologists who accept your plan so you don’t have to do the legwork.
Yes. We only list doctors who are registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and have completed specialist training in dermatology. Many of them also hold consultant posts in NHS hospitals.
Private dermatologists usually offer shorter wait times, more appointment slots and the option to choose your doctor. NHS dermatologists provide excellent care too, but you may need a GP referral and there can be longer waiting lists.
At your first visit, the doctor will take a medical history, ask about your symptoms and examine your skin, hair or nails. They might recommend tests such as a biopsy or blood work, and they’ll talk you through treatment options. It’s a good idea to bring a list of medications and any questions you have.
